Hey guys.
I’m co-owner of a shop in downtown Copenhagen. We’ve been talking about getting a machine like this for YEARS. Do you sell these? Or loan them out? I think it would be super fun to have one in-store for limited items. You can read more about us on our instagram (instagram.com/studioarhoj) and our website.
Hi. Neither actually. We don’t have any large vending machines like this one sitting around. They’re much too big – at least for us. This one we restored for a friend. Wouldn’t have done it otherwise, given the state of the machine. (we actually currently restoring another similar machine, 2 columns, but that ones not ours either – and in much better shape)
Also. These machines only work on older coins. Coins which has long since been taken out of circulation. They cannot be used with current currency without a significant rebuild (which would take away from the originality). These old things should really be for private / decor use only. If placed in a shop setting, you’ll have to consider a number of potential misuse problems, coin validation, secure locks, etc. Things which aren’t relevant for the enthusiast. And even then, they do break down / jam etc. So you’ll probably need to service the machine regularly.
